About the Album
After 10 intensive years with The Mighty Gators, Guy Verlinde said goodbye to his band at the end of last year with a spectacular concert in the Ancienne Belgique. The circle was complete and he was ready for a new chapter in his career.
He heralds this new period with the release of the personal acoustic album “All Is Forgiven”, which he recorded together with a group of top musicians such as Nils De Caster, Kathleen Vandenhoudt, Richard van Bergen (NL) and René Stock.
We know Guy Verlinde as an energetic blues performer. But on this album he shows his most modest and intimate side. He digs deeper and deeper, making this by far his most personal record. Verlinde refines everything in a search for the right words and sounds in order to get to the essence.
His music has matured and on this album he sounds like an accomplished singer-songwriter, supporting his stories with the right sounds; turning the songs into picturesque musical tales. This is an album where the content is central and where he masterfully describes loaded themes such as: forgiveness, suicide, dementia, deception, loss. But also knows how to give a beautiful message of hope, strength, love, gratitude, self-development, ... to the listener.
The album is beautifully designed by illustrator Sainabou Van Raemdonck, who translated the atmosphere of the songs into the artwork and the 20-page booklet in which all lyrics were added.
