Robert Gallagher to step down as Entertainment Director

[Fort Worth, TX- Monday, June 15, 2015] Billy Bob’s Texas announced today that Robert Gallagher, the 27+ year employee of the World’s Largest Honky-Tonk, is stepping down as Entertainment Director to spend more time with his family and various independent projects. Robert will transition out of his regular responsibilities at Billy Bob’s over the next month but will be involved going forward on a consultative and project basis.

Robert’s relationship with Billy Bob’s Texas began during its first year of operations in 1981. Robert initially sold house bands to the club. On November 14th, 1988 he became a full time Billy Bob’s employee as Entertainment Director. Over the next 27 years, Robert cemented artist relationships through his sincere attitude and relentless dedication to Billy Bob’s Texas, artists, and their music.

“My relationship with Billy Bob’s Texas and The Historic Fort Worth Stockyards is second only to my incredibly supportive family. The staff, both past and present, at “The World’s Largest” is truly our second family,” says Robert Gallagher. “It’s almost impossible to express our overwhelming gratitude to the owners, directors, officers, employees, Artists, bands, crews and supporters of this iconic national treasure. We look forward to our continued lifelong friendship with the utmost love and respect.”

“Robert always makes people feel good…old friends or those he just met…VIPs or poor folk,” remarks Steve Murrin, long time Billy Bob’s partner and the ‘Mayor of the Stockyards’. “He has been the most important individual in maintaining our long term success which is based on the affection that top country talent has for Billy Bob’s, in spite of a huge increase in competing venues.”

“On the list of success factors for Billy Bob’s, Robert Gallagher is at the top”, says Concho Minick, Billy Bob’s President “Robert’s approach to business has created so much goodwill in the music community.  The man is a legend and will forever be infused in the history of Billy Bob’s.  It is hard to imagine finding another ambassador like him.”

Plans are being made to celebrate Robert’s unprecedented contribution and dedication to Billy Bob’s Texas.
