2020 was a very good year for Jon Anderson. The legendary vocalist and co-founding member of the rock band Yes, Jon Anderson strikes pop-prog gold with the CD release of 1000 Hands. Produced by Michael T. Franklin, and featuring song co-writing by Brian Chatton, the eleven-track, 50-minute album is a fitting tribute to Anderson’s legacy as a prog-rock pioneer. Asked about the origin of the album title, Anderson adds, “That’s where the title 1000 Hands comes from, all of the brilliant musicians who played a part in making the record.” The album features a reunion with Yes guitarist Steve Howe while other players here include Chick Corea, Rick Derringer, Billy Cobham, Steve Morse, Ian Anderson, Alan White and more jazz / rock legends. If there was ever an artist that could so expertly combine vocal pop, fusion and world beat sounds on one album, it is Jon Anderson. The CD packaging and booklet features all the lyrics and full credits listing who plays on each track. Yes legend Jon Anderson makes the ultimate album of his career with 1000 Hands.
