While the blues is a frequent topic here lyrically, folk and Americana formats are a much more likely destination for Mr. Levenger’s delightful acoustic set. BKA Banana of the legendary 60’s troupe, the Youngbloods, the singer/multi-instrumentalist Mr. L serves up grizzled vocals steeped in congeniality and frequent, self-targeted humor. The pickin’s not shabby either and Ry Cooder and David Grisman provide nice guest work. Check out “Married To The Blues”, “Love Is A Five Letter Word” and “Just Can’t Quit The Blues”.
