The pinpoint focus and darkly-hued character of Gina Sicilia’s vocals are all that are needed to carry this minimally enhanced session along its compelling, highly atmospheric path through soulful terrain of varied nature.  Torchers “Healing Time” and “Let’s Set The World On Fire”, co-writes from producer/guitarist Colin Linden, should garner attention as should Ms. S’s reading of Reverend Gary Davis’ “Death Don’t Have No Mercy”.  Splendid vocal backups, btw, by Ann & Regina McCrary on the afore-mentioned “Healing” and the traditional “Make Me A Pallet On Your Floor”.
