Modern day country-rock music at its best, Anchor is a fine introduction to the music of Florida-born and Texas-based singer-songwriter Copperhead Jones. Released under Zach Jones' stage name of Copperhead Jones, the 13-track Anchor CD features Zach’s guitars and vocals backed up by some great players including Milo Deering (steel Guitar, fiddle, and mandolin), Brendan Gilman (lead guitar), Aden Bubeck (bass), Josh Rodgers (drums), Scott Moody and Drew Harakal (on keys and organ), along with Hillary Bergman Stanton and Colin Alexander on background vocals.

Musically there’s plenty of expert playing from everyone, especially guitarist Milo Deering, who adds in some effective fiddle playing, and lead guitarist Brendan Gilman who smokes on electric lead guitar. Although Texas based nowadays, Zach grew up everywhere but spent middle school and high school in Cocoa, Florida. Zach adds, “I love Texas! Great community and culture here.” Speaking about one of the album’s highlight tracks, Copperhead says,  “Rodeo Pain is a story of a man loving his passion more than a woman. I love the rodeo and felt that was a great analogy to use to describe the way I feel about my passion about music.” Country rock fans will totally enjoy Copperhead Jones and Anchor.
