Bernard Allison maxes his airplay opportunities with a varied set of solid, soulful material; the constants here being the guitarist’s gutsy vocals and the tasty licks dropped throughout.  The leadoff track, the hard-charging rocker “Five Long Years“( Colin James’, not Eddie Boyd’s), includes an extended solo coda that’s one of the set’s high points.  Other top tracks include the moody “Lust For You”, penned by Allison and Ronnie Baker Brooks, and a hard-driving cover of his legendary dad’s “Move From The Hood”. Kick-butt instrumental back-up abounds as well.
