With a vocal posture that sways from folkie to country outlaw, Angie Heimann, the “front” of this Cali-to-Carolina duo, relays vignettes and sketches portraits of no small intensity, nor absence of charm.  Partner Cas Sochacki’s dobro adorns the sparing and suitably atmospheric accompaniment. The chorus of the leadoff track, “Sadness Thief”, should be “hook” enough for airplay.  Other tracks of note include “Ballad To Biker Joe”, “Wind And The Sand” and “Calypso Lane”.
