Pedal steeler Mike Daly and renowned colleagues, including Lloyd Green and Robert Randolph, steer their axes out of predictable lanes, stretching out into varied instrumental turf and achieving some tasty results. Mr. Daly adds further fretted play alongside and in backup of his buddies on acoustic slide guitar, (slide) mandolin and dobro.  The legendary Mr. Green’s breezy feature, “md.ldg” stands out as do B.J. Cole’s sleepy-eyed close-up “Dimming of the Day” and Mr. Randolph’s incisive play on “A Little R&R”.
